There’s a lot of talk about "Vibe Coding" right now—using Cursor, Lovable, or Bolt to prompt entire apps into existence without touching much boilerplate.
On one hand, it’s a superpower. We’re shipping features in 10 minutes that used to take 10 hours. We’re "architects" now, not just "syntax writers."
On the other hand... are we losing the "soul" of engineering? If the AI hallucinates a security flaw or an inefficient database query, and the builder doesn't know how to read the underlying code to fix it, are we just building houses of cards?

In my opinion, it all starts with the mindset that the Vibecoder has, kalau eventually die ada rasa ingin tahu macam mane app tu berfungsi secara low level, die akan menjadi "developer"/"engineer" sebab tugas engineer adalah basically system design dan tahu macam mane bina dan cantum satu system company dengan selamat,efisien dan scalable. Kalau vibecoder tahu macam mane nak design system yang production ready than why not embrace it🤷🏻♂️, tak bermakna OG manual coder dah tak employable.
The definition of "Senior" is shifting. Historically, a Senior Dev was a master of syntax, memory management, and debugging. In 2026, a Senior "Vibe Coder" might look more like a Product Architect. However, there is a massive caveat:

Rule of thumb: If a mistake in this block of code could result in a data breach or a total system outage, you shouldn't "vibe" it without a line-by-line manual audit.
Actually, they are becoming The Specialized Elite.
As more people "vibe" their way into apps, the market will be flooded with "good enough" software. The developers who actually understand the underlying syntax, compilers, and infrastructure will be the ones called in to fix the "houses of cards" when they inevitably lean too far.

There's a Marvel concept that actually nails the vibe coding debate perfectly. The super soldier serum doesn't just make you strong — it amplifies what's already inside you. Steve Rogers jumped on a grenade before he had any powers. The serum just made that instinct unstoppable. Give that same serum to someone driven by ego and insecurity, and you get a villain.
Agentic AI works the same way.
The dev who understands architecture, security, and why things break? AI turns them into a one-person engineering team. The dev who skips the fundamentals and just prompts apps into existence? AI just amplifies the technical debt and blind spots. They can ship in 10 minutes, but they can't read the danger under the hood when it inevitably breaks.
