Continue my internship project as a MySTEP or jump to the private sector?

i am finishing my internship at a government agency next week. i built a centralized asset management system from scratch (only the administrative modules). it is a massive self growth of skills for me since i struggled with basic web apps during my studies.

my supervisor offered a mystep contract so i can continue building the system, at least for six months, as i have the knowledge of the system, and the domain logic. however, i am also waiting on permanent offer letters from private sector.

the dilemma i am in is between seeing my project through to deployment (at least a few modules working) and the** **growth/benefits (like epf and higher salary for my marriage savings) of the private sector.

my question is, "system ownership" on a resume more valuable than a private firm’s name for a fresh grad? and, should I wait for the offer letters before making a move, or is it okay to accept MySTEP first?

would love to hear your thoughts!

and regarding resume, you can always manipulate the data accordingly.

just want to make sure you always choose a job that you enjoy doing, whilst also being in a place where you can consistently improve your skill!

Do whatever feels right to you - just don't put your financial status at risk! When does your internship end? And what companies do you have in mind, for the next step? Utilise Linkedin to connect with relevant people in potential companies, and ask to meet them for coffee or virtual meet. Then ask them how you can work with them, and ask them for advice.

there's no right or wrong when it comes to this. but what's important is, your objective. you can work anywhere while polishing your portfolio, and it will definitely benefit you in the long run. whatever you do, make sure you're happy doing it. It is not worth it having a higher pay with no life, or getting paid peanuts for the skills you have. don't take it too hard. this is just my two-cents.

Since your a fresh graduate,if you prioritize career growth & want to have ownership of that system you built. I suggest stay in MySTEP but negotiate a respectable salaryif you prioritize large capital of money since you're saving up for epf,marriage etc. I suggest go to private companies. They have more employee benefits like stocks,epf etc that you can use
